Are the IRC is normally pretty good I've heard very good things about their offices in Washington state Washington DC as well as New York City. I gave three stars only because of the things I have seen with my own eyes. Sadly many people have quit from this office in Tallahassee from the ICS. I don't know what the reason is but what I do know is is that there is rumor or possible scuttlebutt that there is only the supervisor working now and most of the workers have left. For whatever reason that is.... Whatever the reason is there are no workers to help with distributing the money. Play the Oscar went there when is Colombian family, they were in refugee status as well as the people in front of them. The IRC had promised to pay. They had not paid one bill they had also not paid the rent for 2 months. He noticed that the people in front of him, had not had their rent paid for 3 months. And they would have been served an eviction notice. Normally I would not be this hard but if someone says come in this country such as the government or say a non-profit organization. I believe they have to be set and ready to have a family stay here. 3 months is an extremely short time for a family that doesn't speak the languageor the directions of the area or the customs to have to go out and find rent, pay electric bills, find a job, and everything else that entails our everyday lives in a different country using a different language. Just let them stay at their native country, at least there they were able to survive on what little food and housing they got.. here is if they will be kicked to the street. Oscar has a wife and two young daughters that are under the age of 15. So for him to be kicked on the street would be a tragedy. Now that being said I don't really blame the irc. And I don't blame the workers that quit and I don't blame the supervisor..... It's just an extenuating circumstances that have happened. For whatever reason I don't know if anyone's noticed lately but Tallahassee is the capital of this entire state. And I believe in my heart of hearts that Oscar and his family should have no worries for at least 3 months. I rarely rarely rarely give three stars the only reason I'm doing it for this organization is becausehave the ability to get money from other states from the same organization. They could put money and send workers just as if there was a natural disaster here you have five families at least I know one Syrian family, 102 Guatemalan families, and three or four people from Colombia. So I say this that it's probably a logistics and employee problem it's so nice to have a non-profit that helps refugees. That I can only say I am grateful for them. But this must be said because I am worried as my Spanish friend Oscar is very worried about his two daughters and his wife. I am going to go to churches and the Big bend cares and ability first to see if I can get some money for his rent before they start to put in an eviction notice period and if there's anyone out there that can help. Don't hesitate to call me you can write me here first and then I will give you my number.
