I know the political wrongs, but beggars can't be choosers. Yes, I'm a woman, I have friends there and have lunch with them on occasion. Clean and pleasant place

Personally i do not object to the mailings - they are not intrusive; unlike phone calls... the staff and residents i've met there when dropping off donations have been gracious, and grateful. The director, Jim Kizer, receives a very modest salary and i believe is earnestly trying to selflessly help as many people as possible . They will continue to get what little i can share with them - in our community an awful lot of folks are a paycheck (or less!!) away from needing help and i'm glad they are there for us all.

In the autumn of 2015, I began receiving mailed requests for donations. I had never requested to be added to their mailing list, nor had I donated to them in a way that included my name or address. After the first such mailing, I phoned and asked to be removed from the list. The female rather rudely said that it couldn't be done. After the most recent mailed request, received just before Thanksgiving, I phoned again and left a message. The return call was at least polite; however, this director said that I was not on their mailing list: the mailings were being sent by a company that uses rented mailing lists. I told her that I was on the DMA "do not" lists, so should not be on a reputable company's mailing list: my name should not be rented to the company, and if on a rented list, should be deleted. She said she would send me a letter about the step I should take to stop these things. When I received it, guess what? It recommended that I put my name on the DMA list! I did check with DMA, and my name and address ARE already on their lists for ALL types of mail, including donation requests. The mission is NOT contacting the company to get my name removed, despite repeated requests to remove my name. This is unconscionable. I am being harassed by them via some unnamed entity and they refuse to contact that entity to get them to stop. I repeat: this is unconscionable. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM IN ANY WAY.
