After spending a significant amount of time and money they concluded our relationship as prospective adoptive parents. After we volunteered our time to help during an international hosting event, did all of their training, and attended many events including driving across the state we felt discarded because one meeting did not go well for a prospective child. The irony of abandoning us (they are supposed to help children) without responding to our email trying to at least end things on good terms is shameful. We wouldn't have written this review otherwise. Check out all of the recent reviews. Clearly something is wrong here. Don't waste your time here and find a more empathetic place to put your child up for adoption or find a child for your family.

We were surprised and disappointed to learn that Gladney is currently too overwhelmed to assist families looking to adopt—even to the point of not maintaining a waiting list. It’s disheartening, especially considering how many children in Texas are still waiting for loving homes. It feels strange, even concerning, that an established organization like Gladney doesn’t have the resources available to begin guiding prospective adoptive families through the process.

I’ve never been more disgusted with something in my life than this place. I was considering putting my child up for adoption a few weeks ago and was connected with an individual who was supposed to go over some items on the phone with me. Great. She calls me and was completely put off by these questions. The first question this lady asks me is if I’m Native American. Why does that matter? Then, she goes on to ask what race I am and my husband is. Again, why does that matter? Then, we go right into the mental health questionnaire. It took me all but 5 minutes to realize that this place doesn’t give a flying crap about you, but rather what race and what issues you have so they can get more money for your baby when they go to sell him/her to adopters. The question that absolutely sent me over the edge was “So it’s a girl, right?” I immediately hung up. Doesn’t make me feel right at all putting my baby girl into the hands of an agency that cares more about adopters “preferences” than the well being of a child. Felt more like an auction trying to sell a horse than talking about a future for my baby.
