I love that GIFTS is a Christian organization and provides men in Rock County with so much more than just a bed and a meal. There is so much love there.

It’s nice that there’s a shelter specifically for men. The person I knew who was staying here was seemingly well cared about. Thumbs up! However, I can only give three stars because I don’t know enough to give any additional stars. It’s definitely not a perfect place but there is no such place.

Intake staff are very unpleasant, rude, and the whole atmosphere of the place as well as the process in place at this men's shelter to seek help, out of desperation, reeks of judgement and overall dismissal. I totally understand why most people who are homeless and living on the streets, even though places like this do exist, would rather take their chances out on their own than to come here and be subjected to this kind of humiliation.

I dropped off food I cannot use at home and made them to big plates of cookies. The place was clean, secure and I am happy the homeless men have a place to go. I did not donate clothing to gifts this time just food. I am impressed that Church volunteers come in and do a food inventory then cook the meals.. Great location by bus stops and Near Hospital and shopping.

Should the god/12-step oriented program conflict with personal beliefs and you are asked to leave; you will subsequently be blacklisted from any and all emergency housing programs in Janesville. The paradox being that they're there to help with homelessness ONLY in the name of Jesus, and if you don't affirm the dogma, it's in the name of Jesus that they ensure you remain homeless. So very-very christian of them.
