Franklin county is an absolute joke for anything pertaining to government assistance. I lived in Delaware previously, and I had no issues applying for assistance when it was needed, now I tried applying a month ago and they said I missed my appointment when I didn’t. Nobody called me!! I checked the phone numbers on file. I sat and waited around the entire day for no reason, in addition to that, I tried to call the following morning and sat on hold for over 4 hours and nobody answered. It’s unbelievable how awful these places are, you’re supposed to be helping those who need it. I can imagine they deal with their fair share of crappy people as well, but what about the ones that need to feed their kids? That are in college, trying to get a degree, and getting kicked while they’re already down, repeatedly? How is anyone supposed to survive in this economy? I’m so disgusted, and upset..

I have try 2 times to call you and when I press 1 to talk to you, you WILL NOT connect me to a live person. So I wanted to thank you for making me lose my SNAP benefits. I am sure if anyone who will try to get anything from you will not go to you. you are nothing but a waste of our tax money and I hope they shut you down for good

I went in with some income paperwork for Childcare. When I first arrived the greeter seemed sweet, asked me what I needed, and sent me with my color cordinated paper upstairs. Once I arrived upstairs the lady at the top of the stairs seemed more interested in the conversation with her coworker/friend/other person she may have been helping and rushed through telling me where to go. I had to have her repeat it and I sort of understood it enough to get where I was going. Once I got into the Childcare section of the office I explained to them a few different times I was simply trying to finish the process of getting my son into the preschool near him. They didn't seem to know anything about the new requirement from Ohio where everyone has to apply through JFS. (We knew we wouldn't qualify but were forced by the preschool in order for acceptance). When I arrived I told them I had received a letter stating they needed more income even though I had uploaded it to the portal several times by paperwork I had received. They said they already had received the paperwork and were confused as to why I was bringing it in. They also asked if my income had changed and I stated no it had not changed. They stated that I was already denied for care. And then stated if I was denied for care I would be denied for ECE. The workers didn't seem very friendly and seemed like they just wanted to rush me out of there. I honestly walked out still not fully understanding what they hold up was, but I do believe it is on the preschool side of things. However they didn't seem the friendliest.
