Services start obnoxiously loud, with their prayer band or whatever they call it, singing loud syrupy songs. Usually the sermons aren't backed by any research, just the preacher spouting off twisted opinions and "facts" that he may have seen in a headline ('The southern Baptist is the most persecuted in the nation,' 'suicide rates are rising, but it's because drug use and maybe some lonliness, they all needed god in their lives, that would've saved them.'Every service and sermon begins and ends, with much in between, with begging for money. "Scan this QR code," "look at the booklet in front of you," "check your flyer you were handed as you came in." It's like watching a St. Jude or ASPCA commercial without the tugged heartstrings of sick kids, animals, or Sara McLaughlin singing over it all. Sure people claim you need to donate the "god tax" of 10%, but to nag for it every 5 minutes?
On mother's Day, you know - the day to *honor* mothers - the preacher's wife started the service with some fribble about how women were meant to be subservient partners to men, meant to be wives, created to be mothers above all else, so shouldn't need to work outside the home as they needed to raise godly children. It was disgusting. Women are supposed to build each other up and give each other strength and support. Not try to take away hard won freedoms, rights, and make them chattel again.
They also strongly push children's baptism and attendance, to the extent of calling and harassing the parents. They don't even check if any of the children have attended their Sunday schools or VBS programs so maybe are already learning about the bible from their versions as well as at home.
