Vickie Mayes rated 2 2 months ago I normally don’t leave reviews but feel I must after my recent experience at Family Services. I have always been very grateful for the help I’ve received here but it has changed over the last 3-4 years. I would advise others to be very careful about getting too involved in therapy at Family Services. I’ve had several wonderful therapists here but they drop you with very little notice. I’ve had the rug pulled from under me twice now and at times when I’m already mentally stretched. I understand that things come up and changes occur but considering the nature of the service they are supposed to provide there should be some protocol for giving their clients time to work through the transition with another therapist. Opening up in therapy and developing that trust is not an easy thing to do but when you’re bounced around and dropped with almost no notice it’s a huge setback in all that has been accomplished. This place unfortunately seems to have very little regard for abandoning their clients and that is contrary to the service they claim to provide. |

Courtney Sink rated 5 2 years ago I have been involved with family services for almost 2 years and I would definitely recommend this place for people my age. I can't speak on adults seeking care from here but I can say the care that counselors put in to helping me was beyond helpful. They have many different kinds of programs to help teenagers. When I was long-term suspended in 8th grade, I was recommended to try the Keeping Up program. It was very helpful and you could really tell the counselors and teacher wanted the best for you. I also joined a group there and it was very fun to interact with other girls going through similar situations and finding coping skills that helped with each of us. I now do individual counseling on video calls due to Covid but they have been a great help to me. I have picked myself back up and am in my sophomore year of high school and I truly believe I probably would still be very behind and not a very good student if it wasn't for the Keeping Up program and my individual counselor. |
