An email asking about the role of women in this church went unanswered, but a recent service on Mother’s Day gives some insight. A lot of the message was about Eve’s introduction of sin into the world, despite the fact that Adam readily ate the forbidden fruit also. At the end of the service, a pastor said (on Mother’s Day, remember) “men, lead in love.” The website indicates women are in no meaningful leadership roles in this church. Much has changed over 2000 years, but churches like this show that the role of women in the church has changed very little.

I’ve been at The Bridge Church for over three years and I’ve told Pastor Eric and many other people that it feels like Pastor Eric starts his week with “What’s going on in Eddy‘s life? What can we talk about Sunday that will help him? It feels like every service was meant for me. I am so blessed to have this home especially for someone who never felt like he had a home. If you’re in the Phoenix area and you need a church, I highly recommend coming to The Bridge. You will get a pastor that may not always tell you what you want to hear but because he loves you will always tell you what you need to hear. You will get people that genuinely care about you and love you just because you’re you. Not because you’ve done anything for them, not because they expect you to do anything for them. Just because of the love God has put in their hearts. I now have some of the best friends I’ve ever had in my life from the Bridge.

I’ve been coming to The Bridge Church for a year and a half. When you come here, expect to feel the love of Jesus and see the smiling faces of the greeters who are genuinely happy to see you as you approach the doors..The church values people and has a desire for each person to grow and walk in the gifts that God gave you! The teachings are biblical based (expository style)..so prepare your hearts and leave changed.. They have a heart for community! They have many small groups (all different ages and walks of life) that are message based that meet weekly. Expect to get “homework” that helps you know, grow and experience God. It also holds you accountable to your own relationship with Him by studying on your own before you meet! They really go outside of the four walls into the streets to serve the lost, forgotten, broken and addicted. The heart that the outreach team has for their ministry is beautiful. They genuinely love to love on those who don’t know Christ and show them the love of Christ...If you are looking for a place to grow in your faith, find a community to do life with and serve His kingdom, go and check it out!!
