Started going to mass here as a candidate, working on becoming Catholic there. Got my eagle scout at the boy scout troop 508 based at that church

St Joan of Arc is a pleasant atmosphere. They hold firm to the faith and show no major signs of backsliding. The people are friendly and the priests are supportive. I found Fr Shocklee to be a bit distant, due to his large number of responsibilities as Sr pastor. Fortunately there are many others to also help. The RCIA group goes over a lot of material and is good for those already convinced. My biggest concern is they don't spend enough time helping skeptics with individual subjects or their personal doubts, instead throwing a bunch of books their way without an organized reading plan, and jumping from one aspect to another way too quickly. Spending at least a month on certain subjects (like intercessionary prayer) and giving out enforced required reading assignments, like in school, would go a long way to help skeptics develop a deeper understanding, and hopefully a change of heart.

I'm pretty sure Joan died for France and for Jesus, not to have herself canonized

Boring as I can get out and extremely taboo.. I'll never attend unless it's a family funeral
