About This Service
The East Los Angeles Women’s Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all women, girls, and their families—especially within Latino communities—live in safety, health, and personal well-being, free from violence and abuse. Founded in 1976, ELAWC provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and substance abuse. Offerings include crisis counseling, health and housing services, youth and male engagement programs, volunteer and Promotora advocacy training, and community education. Working in collaboration with community partners, ELAWC promotes social justice and empowers individuals and future generations through healing, prevention, and comprehensive support services.

I didn’t expect as much support coming here (I came across them on google ). These ladies are SO KIND and compassionate about the services they offer . They were very helpful & even went above and beyond assisting me & my Lo’s. Thank you so much , God bless 🤍

Extremely poor communication. Constantly calling. I press 1 for English and it just rings and rings and rings and no one answers during normal business hours it's been going on for a week and you cannot even leave a message

I called to set up an intake for a client and the phone system is making it very very hard to reach anyone or leave a message. When I press a button it doesn’t register it on a cell phone or on a landline. Press two to leave a message and I press 2 and It doesn’t register that I pushed anything. I could hardly imagine what this would be like if I was actually a battered woman. Could somebody who works there try to call your own phone system? It’s seriously flawed. This happened yesterday and today.
