Very bad. These people did not help me at all. I was beaten up and concussed and hospitalized from my partner, and these people at DAIS basically convinced me that testifying might be too hard. I was so tired and stressed and vulnerable, I would have been much better off alone in court for a restraining order than with these people. Very disturbing. Very bad advice, and absolutely no emotional support. It's like being emotionally abused further while trying to help yourself out of a bad situation.

I too have nothing good report of our experience. I referred my friend to this plsce. I drove her to this place. She had a very abusive husband. Dais suggested and assisted in taking action against her husband. Then did absolutely no other help or guidance. Her husband quickly found out. He emptied out their apartment then left her there. We both tried to get additional help. Dais simply quit responding. She then within a day or two after committed suicide.

I wish I could truly say that they cared but I really feel like they DONT! They denied me and my daughter every time I called for some insane reason that didn’t even make since.. I’ve called them for 2 months straight and they don’t even have a record of it.. I’ve done 3 assessments to be put on the waiting list and my name was never even put on the waiting list.. my mind is blown.. it’s sick.. way to go Madison. I’m so disappointed.

Because DAIS is the only facility of its kind in the immediate area, there is a waiting list, which is unfortunate. The advocates are extremely caring and don't work there because of the pay- they do it because they want to help people. The staff at DAIS does so much good for so many. It's a drag that some don't agree, I'm sorry for their circumstances.

I volunteer for DAIS, the Domestic Abuse Intervention Services. The people there are absolutely wonderful; they have been very welcoming. I love volunteering there, not only because helping people affected by domestic violence is, as I see it, a moral obligation of society, but also because I feel very valued by the whole team. Everyone there cares a lot about what they do to help victims. This is a great place to volunteer and to donate to!
