About This Service
Birthing Beautiful Communities (BBC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides intensive peer-to-peer support to pregnant women at highest risk for infant mortality during the perinatal period. BBC's services aim to address and improve systemic and community structures that lead to poor birth outcomes through Culture, Education, Advocacy, Support, and Engagement (CEASE). The organization offers labor support, life goal planning, childbirth and parenting education, and support groups, focusing on providing exceptional perinatal support, birth, and breastfeeding options to communities at risk for infant mortality by people who look like them. BBC's grassroots and culturally centered model aims to improve infant health, strengthen families, and establish support to ensure ongoing family success. The organization also offers a variety of services such as prenatal and postpartum care, mental health services, lactation support, grocery shopping and transportation services, in addition to education and support groups for expectant and new mothers.
