Susan Terwilliger is one of the most sincere, caring and knowledgeable professionals I have ever met and we had such a wonderful experience with her as our guide for our first born that we sought out her services for another time when we were expecting our second child. I am proud to say that Susan was instrumental in bringing our two children into the world and that my wife got every bit of attention she deserved during two of the most important moments of her life. I thought I understood the birth experience and appreciated midwifery care as I embarked on my journey through pregnancy and birth. Waking up from a nap during my labor and seeing Susie sitting with me and my family, in our home on a Saturday afternoon placed my admiration and gratitude of her and her work to a level I had never imagined. She allowed me to just be, to be present with myself, and to go deep within. Susie was there for me and baby-to-be from the first weeks of pregnancy. Susie was kind, professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and respectful. I felt empowered after each prenatal, coming away with new information about myself, baby-to-be, and the process of pregnancy, and even more so during labor, birth, and postpartum. Because I felt respected and had the utmost confidence in my care from Susie, I had more confidence in my decisions and my ability to birth. Susie is a brilliant human who truly acknowledges and fosters the space that pregnancy and birth take place in. We are so grateful our paths crossed and that we had the privilege of her serving as our midwife.

Alaska Birthing is the best place for prenatal care, has the most trusted people at your side while in labor, and continues their amazing services well into your postpartum time. I have birthed four healthy babies at home with Susan (Alaska Birthing) at my side. I hope I will never have to birth a baby without her love, care, and support.
