My husband and I are blessed beyond measure to have found this agency because they connected us to our son. Deena was a God send and although we struggled with ICPC, she fought for literally day and night. We are grateful for this life changing experience

I reached out to this agency regarding foster care licensing and had a thorough intake call with Sharie. I took detailed notes during our conversation, where she outlined the application process, including requirements such as five references (two from family), ten years of employment and address history, a statement of understanding, and a marijuana attestation form that all household members would need to sign and additional forms. She also explained the timeframe, the waitlist for licensing, and mentioned that 20-30 children need placement daily. I left the call feeling positive about the process. After printing the four required documents, I had questions—particularly about the marijuana attestation form, as it didn’t seem appropriate for my 9-year-old to complete. Additionally, I wanted clarification on medical marijuana policies, so I emailed Sharie for further details. Her response stated that no marijuana use was permitted in any form, including CBD, oils, and gummies. Since I use CBD treats for my dog, which are legally sold in pet stores, I inquired further and asked to see the policy, as I couldn't find it in the DCS Go-to Guide. However, instead of addressing my concerns professionally, Sharie's tone came across as judgmental rather than informative. She repeatedly told me what she did *not* say and even challenged the notes I had personally taken. She then sent a lengthy email explaining why my notes were incorrect and stated that the marijuana attestation form was created by her and her boss—not DCS. For an agency that identifies as Christian, I expected a more supportive and professional interaction. Asking valid questions should not be met with defensiveness or personal bias. Due to this experience, I have decided not to work with this agency.
