Unsure about the way forward with adoption-- and whether or not it was a journey we were ready to take-- my wife and I attended the Adoption Advocates weekend seminar. By the end of the second day, we knew that we would adopt, and we knew we would do so with Adoption Advocates. If you are looking for an adoption agency that is ethical, moral and truly cares about all parties involved in the adoption triad (birth parents, child, adoptive parents), this is the agency for you. My husband and I highly recommend Adoption Advocates (AAI). Our biggest requirement was making sure the birth parents are supported and taken care of through the process and post placement. We researched and interviewed several agencies before we chose AAI. Being in the adoption community and hearing stories of negative experiences with other agencies, I am so happy we chose AAI. We started our adoption journey in early 2016 and were matched and placed in May 2016. They have supported our son's birth parents and us in every way possible even years after placement. Rory and her team are so caring, listen and do an absolutely amazing job. Hands down if we adopt again we will definitely choose AAI.

I can’t believe it has taken me almost 12 years to write a review about a place that I think about so gratefully. When we began researching adoption, we weren’t 100% committed, so we went to an annual conference held by a local adoption support group, Adoption Knowledge Advocates. There we were able to interview several agencies. As we walked around, it became very clear to us that there was only one place we would even think about working with. AAI’s staff was knowledgeable, caring and very patient! We were still hesitant about open adoption, so we attended a workshop offered by AAI. It was truly, one of the best things we ever did. We learned a lot about open adoption, birth mothers and relationships after the birth. We left with a totally different outlook on open adoption. Our fears about adoption were greatly diminished as AAI explained how they do everything according to the law so that adoptive and birth families don’t have to deal with the pain shown by the media when agencies or individuals don’t follow the strict guidelines and laws. AAI was very helpful when making our book to show to prospective birth mothers and filling out the paperwork because we took forever! Once it was submitted and the phone calls came in, a new fear set it, which AAI easily talked us through. Every step of the way we were able to call and question or cry or vent and AAI always listened and helped us. We adopted two children with AAI and I can’t imagine going with anyone else. We quickly realized we cared about our birth families…and so did AAI. We have been very impressed at the continued support that AAI offers to birth families even after they place a child for adoption. AAI truly cares about the whole triad, (adoptive family, adoptee and birth family). We are very happy to continue to have relationships with both of our childrens’ birth families. The relationships are very different from each other but they work for each birth mom and us. We respect them, are grateful to them and can’t imagine not having them in our lives. As a result of our successful adoptions, we have had a multitude of friends use the agency as well, with happy results. I cannot say enough good about this agency and am always willing to talk at conferences or to individuals about how wonderful AAI is.
