ReRePhilips rated 2 a month ago Jerry/Gerry the life guard supervisor became very aggressive with me and my children. It was so bizarre. I resigned immediately from this location. She literally almost hit me. The yelling was very undignified and frankly, scary. My kids were swimming in different directions. I could only chase down one (I was alone). She kept screaming “arm’s width arm’s width”. She stalked us around the pool all day screaming at me. She got in my kids’ face over it. Highly recommend the woodlands country club pool. This Y is bunk. The gym is good. But the fact that they allow people to scream at kids is appalling. I’m out. |
Brooks rated 4 7 months ago Been going to this YMCA location for 6 months or so mainly to use the swimming pool. I’ve had a very pleasant experience here. Everyone I’ve encountered has been very nice and friendly, all the staff seem helpful and professional. Only downside is the pool does get a bit dirty at times, but that’s the nature of a public pool I suppose. |
Jaclyn Bell rated 5 7 months ago My family has been attending this YMCA since the early 1990’s when we first moved to The Woodlands. Now that I’m an adult and have a family of my own, we are members here as well. We also use the Children’s Academy for our preschool age son. He loves it and is learning so much there from the teachers and staff. It’s a great value. If anyone is on the fence about sending their child there please know that we have used this school as well as a more expensive school in the area. The service we get here at The Children’s Academy is just as good if not better in many ways. |
Sally Zaki rated 1 8 months ago Terrible experience at the shadowbend branch of the woodlands . I enrolled my son in swimming classes at 6:30,somehow the lady at the front desk made a mistake and enrolled him for the 5:10 class ,even though I made it clear that my son does not come home from school except at 5:30 and that I can not do any classes earlier than 6:30. We went to the first class on time and were surprised when they told us that he is enrolled in the 5:10 class .The instructor was sweet and apologetic, she added us to the 6:30 class for the first month as she had an opening. We were charged automatically for the second month but the instructor refused to take us as her class was full . When I complained to Jerry Duncan who is in charge of all the swimming classes . She was of no help at all and actually gave me an attitude when I asked her how am I being charged for something and not offered a service . Her answer was then come to the 5:10 class! No apology was even given for the mistake , aggressive tone and no professionalism at all . All she said was I’ll keep you on the wait list which is not what should happen, when your staff makes a mistake I don’t have to pay for it.
Very unorganized and unprofessional. |
Delores Rivas rated 1 a year ago I called to cancel my membership in the beginning of July and was told I would not be charged in August due to the membership being fully cancelled. Come August first my account was charged and when I called YMCA they told me they could not process a refund because there was no proof I called to cancel. So that tells me whichever front desk associate I spoke to did not even input in the computer my cancelation request. They were unable to provide me with corporate phone number because there isn't one and they were not allowed to give the directors direct phone number. I was screwed out of almost $100 and thats money family needed for back to school supplies/clothes. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of trying to fix the situation and feeling like I was simply blown off with no intention of getting a refund. We have not used YMCA facilities once since I'd called to cancel so they are basically milking money from my account and blaming it on the incompetency of their staff. |
