they lost both applications I applied for Medicaid for my sister and parents. > 2.5 months lost. process is not transparent - there is no case number to track progress.

As a sponsor of refugees from Ukraine I applied for announced benefits for the people I host. After 1 month of waiting thyy sent them an email like we can't help you this year. Contact us in 2023. What was that? THIS IS HELP FOR REFUGEES? That is outrages and this place just eats up taxpayers money doing nothing to help refugees. Just shut the place, don't waste money for maintenance. Or at least rename it to Come_Next_Year_Or_Year_after center.

if i could give a score of 0/5, i would. This is going to be a long review, so buckle up. I have not had a pleasant experience with the STEP prog at Refugee Services of Texas. I started with them as a client at the end of last year. Since then, I have had multiple issues. I have had a case manager send me to a church when I was clear that I have religious trauma. When I asked for some space, the case manager closed my case without alerting me. Then, I spent a month trying to contact her to receive more help, and she iced me out. I called weekly, and sent multiple text messages. Her excuse was, “I was out last week”. She couldn’t have called me the other three weeks of the month? That case manager was replaced by another. My time was cut short with my second case manager, as she told me, with no notice, that she was being taken off my case. Not only was she taken off my case, but she alerted me to the fact that her previous supervisor, Sanghee Dobson, was trying to close my case now, without any notice or my consent. That second care manager advocated my case to Sanghee to no avail. I contacted Sanghee multiple times to get her to staff my case. She blew me off multiple times, saying she would call me back, but never did. I had to advocate for my case to be staffed, which as a disabled person, is incredibly exhausting and overwhelming. She kept saying there was no one available to staff my case now that my case manager was gone. I thought it was incredibly cruel to cut my case short without my consent bc they decided to move around staff and didn’t make sure I was going to be supported with the transition. When I finally threatened to speak with Sanghee’s supervisor about her behavior, she said she could only staff me with a male case worker, although I had made it clear men trigger me due to my trafficking abuse. She also offered to help me, but when I asked her to look up food banks for me, she replied, “those are hard to find” and didn’t even do a preliminary google search. Sanghee even went so far as to blame the male case manager for not reaching out to me, but when I met him, he had no clue who I was, or any details about my case. I let Sanghee know this wouldn’t be a good fit, which turned into a horrible phone call that left me crying hysterically. I begged her to staff my case, but she just kept making excuses. She kept reminding me, “you only have 3 months left on your case, remember?” Then went as far as to say to me, “well, it wouldn’t be fair to close someone else’s case to make room for you”. to which i responded, “but it’s fair to do that to me?” i cried hysterically, threatening to call her supervisors, yet again, about what she was doing to me. She got off the phone with me and had my case staffed within 5 minutes. FIVE MINUTES. she could have staffed my case all along with a female case manager, but chose not to. This isn’t the end of my issues with this organization. After all of this occurred, i reached out to a previous case manager to get Sanghee’s supervisor’s info to file a formal complaint. I contacted not one, but TWO supervisors for the organization to file this complaint and NEITHER has contacted me back. I have sent multiple emails and made several calls to Kaylen Runyan, head of the RST STEP program, as well as, having a case manager contact Qhatan Mustafa, area director, for me. Neither have returned my messages requesting to file a complaint against Sanghee Dobson, which has led me to leaving this review. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS ORGANIZATION. they do not care about their clients. They will toss them aside as it suits the organization. There is no oversight for managers who prey on vulnerable populations like Sanghee. Sanghee Dobson should NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES work with vulnerable populations. It is clear she is willing to manipulate and assert her authority in order to get what she wants, regardless of how it affects STEP clients. This STEP program at RST is supposed to help human trafficking victims to get stable, but instead marginalizes an already marginalized community.

It looks like I am not the only one having issues with the case managers being irresponsible and not responsive. YES RST was not like this a couple years back. One more thing the volunteers are really appreciated they are Rocking and they are the ones needs to be appreciated not the RST Staff.
