STEPHANIE E. My wife and I are actively trying to adopt for this very reason. I'll look for another review post of yours and we can figure out a way to get in contact.

I went here from the time I was a child, altbough I left for a few years and didn't come back until I was saved. This church is solid on all fronts, and has been an exceptional example in training pastors who then took over other churches, both from their own pastors and from their congregation. Very friendly, although due to the size you can get lost pretty easily outside of a Sunday School/community group. Multiple pastors came to see me when I was hospitalized for a week. The songs are almost all very good, with a wide variety of styles and themes to teach, comfort, and encourage people whatever their situation. Very skilled musical team, which can make it feel like a performance at times, but avoids distraction and brings out the beauty of the songs, and in turn, the beauty of the God we worship. The senior pastor, Clint Pressley, cares deeply about his people and preaches with the cares and troubles he's heard from them throughout the week in mind. The preaching is simple, solid exposition: it won't blow you away, but like the songs, it will feed you whatever your situation may be if you stay here, with some exceptionally good sermons.
I joined their Plaza-Midwood church plant in August 2021, so I can't give many updates beyond that point, but I speak regularly with a Hickory Grove member and from what he's told me I can safely say that none of this has changed.
