So i spoke to a advocate name fatuma she just made me feel so unprotected. She said she would have to screen me and she did but kept repeating same questions over to me. She asked me what I want out of and I said shelter. Then she ask me several times do I have family friends I said no for 3rd time she say I ask that because it rules here and I say don’t every shelter have rules and she said yes then she get to telling me all the rules 1 bag per person, only can stay 45 days so so on. She ask me do I have car I say no then she say you have 2 hrs to get here I said I don’t have a way she said let me see if we can help. Like all these rules and you can’t help with nothing! If you DV victim don’t go here because they don’t make you feel welcome it’s almost like they trying to keep people away from there. Sad

The Supervisor over this place is HORRIBLE. Tiffany and Lynette are supposed to protect women and they threw me and my kids out and I begged them after being abused I felt abused here as well!!!! They are unprofessional they didn’t even give me a tour of the place ! Bad attitudes! I felt horrible and on edge here! They should be fired!

The advocates are very compassionate and knowledgeable. They show true passion and truly want to help. They deserve to be celebrated more. I have nothing but good experiences with the advocates. This agency needs a complete change of executive leadership and a review of how funds are spent. The executive leadership team creates a toxic environment. Many advocates report direct racism and micro aggressions from the executive leadership team but nothing is done. This has sparked petitions, calls for change and calls for executive leaders resignations. Many advocates have left because of Cheryl. She is the exact image of toxic positivity and is truly evil. The turnover (most of the advocates and their direct supervisors) is because of Cheryl. This has been reported in many exit interviews but the executive director and board do nothing about it. Cheryl claims to support survivors but then works hard to exploit them more. I leave 2 stars because of the people actually doing the work- the advocates. I hope some of the board members see this review and investigate. It’s hard seeing an agency with so much potential being run into the ground. Cornerstone has lost many great advocates and survivors are being hurt.

I have had a good experience so far with Cornerstone. After I expressed my concerns, the advocate seemed sympathetic. She was down-to-earth. Neither of us understood what was going on with the shelters denying women space. Seems like a good agency so far.
